Mardi Gras 2025: Celebrating You - Past Present Future
Northern Beaches Mardi Gras Event
This Mardi Gras, the Northern Beaches Council has invited TRANSMEDIUM to curate a special Mardi Gras event. Guests are invited to come dressed as themselves - as who you once were, who you are now, or who you hope to be.
We’ll kick off the evening with the screening of Right Here, a short film that had its premiere at the Sydney Film Festival 2022. The film follows Grace, a non-binary teen, as they discover that everything they want to be is already inside of them.
After the screening, stay for a panel discussion with queer and trans artists and advocates who will share their stories of resilience.
Who Should Attend?
This event is for all members of the LGBTQIA+SB community across the Northern Beaches (and beyond), with a focus on creating an intergenerational space. We welcome queer youth, families, older generations, and allies to join us in celebrating queer joy, connection, and community.
Tickets are $10, includes tasty refreshments.

Do you have a story inside you? Thoughts, emotions, or experiences that you want to share but don’t know how? You're not alone.
Join award-winning filmmaker Claud Bailey for a creative workshop where queer teens (ages 14-18) can explore their stories and transform them into art. Through storytelling exercises, collaging, and hands on activities, you will be guided in shaping and confidently sharing your unique experiences.
